Coaching Training

Coaching training is a type of learning in which an experienced individual, known as a coach, supports a client or learner in attaining a particular personal or professional objective by giving practical guidance and training. The coach is often called a trainer. Coaches are expected to be competent at problem solving, decision making and communication skills and knowledge of skills and tools applicable to the business domain. Most coaching training programs take approximately one year to complete.

The primary objective of coaching is to provide learning opportunities that maximize the development of the students potentials. Coaching is also used to assist students to achieve career goals. Coaching helps people evaluate their own behaviors, thoughts and actions. It also trains students to build and utilize effective leadership qualities. Coaching develops communication skills, group dynamics skills, problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills. Coaching also helps students to manage time and organize tasks.

In the United States, there are over 400 certified coaches and trainers. Training and certification requirements vary from state to state. Most training academies provide both classroom and non-classroom training.

A coach must have an MBA degree, CPA, and excellent interpersonal skills. Coaches should know how to motivate students, hold their attention, and create an atmosphere of continuous support. A coach should be able to relate to his or her students. The ideal coach has a positive impact on the lives of his/her students. A coach should have realistic expectations and be able to set and reach realistic goals.

Coaches must always be prepared to adapt to the learning style of each individual student and their ability to meet the needs of a group or organization.
